UWIN Programs Scheduled Next Week on Campus

Several University of Wyoming Innovation Network (UWIN) programs are scheduled next week at different locations on campus. Workshops and events are free and open to the public.

UWIN is a hub of student innovation with multiple locations on campus. Spaces provide an “inspiring environment” for creative, collaborative and entrepreneurial projects, such as advanced 3D printing, sewing, embroidery and vinyl cutting.

“As we eagerly anticipate the arrival of spring, we are thrilled to announce a series of workshops and programs at the UW Innovation Network that promise to ignite your curiosity and fuel your passion for innovation,” says Jane Crayton, UWIN makerspace coordinator. “These events are designed to inspire collaboration, foster creativity and empower you with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in today’s dynamic world.”

Workshops and events scheduled when the semester begins next week are:

-- Tuesday, Jan. 16, 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m., UWIN Coe Student Innovation Center (CSIC): “Introduction to Laser Cutting and Engraving (Glowforge).” For more information, click here.

-- Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2-4 p.m., UWIN Make-IT Lab: “Introduction to Laser Cutting and Engraving (Boss laser).” For more information, click here.

-- Wednesday, Jan. 17, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., UWIN CSIC: “Introduction to Decal and Heat Transfer Vinyl Cutting (USCutter).” For more information, click here.

-- Thursday, Jan. 18, 8-11 p.m., UWIN CSIC: “GeekOUT,” snacks and refreshments provided. For more information, click here.

-- Friday, Jan. 19, 12:30-2:30 p.m., UWIN SciDIY Lab: “Introduction to FDM 3D Printing (Prusas and Ultimakers).” For more information, click here.

Youth ages 8-13 can register now for the 4-H makerspace after-school program from 3:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, through Tuesday, March 5.
