The Basic BSN program chose Mountain View Regional Hospital (MVRH) in Casper for the 2015 Community Partner award in order to recognize the rich learning experiences MVRH continually provides for the UW nursing students. MVRH also provides leadership opportunities, gives students opportunities to polish their interviewing skills, and generously provides assistance and financial support for the Marcia Dale Aspire Scholars program students. The BRAND program chose the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County (MHSC) for the 2015 Community Partner award in thanks for their eagerness to take BRAND students and for their provision of exceptional experiences in all areas: Med-Surg, ER, OB, etc. Clinical personnel are very pro-student and pro-UW. MHSC staff are dedicated and caring not only to their patients but also to students. Whitney Benefits instituted an endowment at Sheridan College in Sheridan, Wyoming to enrich nursing and nursing education in the community. The endowment established a collaborative between UW and Sheridan College through appointment of an endowed nursing chair. The chair serves as liaison between UW and Sheridan College nursing students, providing face-to-face advising and academic support. Platte Valley Medical Clinic, P.C., a rural health clinic in Saratoga, shares a decades-long relationship with UW FWWSON in providing outstanding clinical experiences to family nurse practitioner students. Experiences include rural clinic visits, house calls, after-hour emergency calls, practicing with limited resources and lack of specialty services, and practicing as a patient-centered medical home.
