"I have so many ideas and goals I want to accomplish this year with SNA. All of our board members believe we need to spend more time volunteering and giving back to our community of Laramie and the communities in surrounding areas. As student nurses we want to do our part in helping others. This semester we have: cooked for families in the Ronald McDonald house in Denver Colorado, participated in the Crohn’s walk in Fort Collins Colorado, spent time playing bingo as well as giving manicures to the residents of Spring Wind Assisted Living in Laramie. We are currently planning to organize a food drive to donate to others in need, paint windows for the holiday season in Laramie as well as make and distribute Christmas Cards to residents of the Laramie Care Center. I believe we live in a great community and want to be as involved as possible and help as many people as we can along the way. It is extremely important to me to get our organization out in our community as well as neighboring communities helping wherever we can."

SNA is a recognized student organization on campus. Any student at UWYO who has declared nursing as a major can become a member--Freshman through Senior. We strongly encourage those of you who haven't joined to do so. SNA is an excellent way to become actively involved in your education. You also have the opportunity to become a member of the National SNA, through which are many benefits and opportunities available to you. We encourage you to fill out an application. (Contact SNA at the email contact noted above for an application.)
UWSNA participates in many on-campus activities to raise awareness and funds for specific diseases/causes, including Walk MS; Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure; Face AIDS; Body Image Awareness Week; Adopt a Family Holiday Tree; and food drives. We also do some off-campus volunteering at Spring Wind Assisted Living and the Downtown Clinic in Laramie and Ronald McDonald house in Colorado. SNA has regular social activities outside of meetings to get to know one another better.
Meetings are held once a month, on days and times which are most convenient for the majority. A free lunch is served at every meeting.
LOCAL DUES: $5 for NSNA members; $10 for non-NSNA members [NSNA=National Student Nurses Association] / NATIONAL DUES: $25/year. Sign up for NSNA at https://nsnamembership.org/.
