Construction of the renovation and expansion of Half Acre Gym is underway. The project will be accomplished in two phases, allowing patrons to utilize portions of the facility throughout the entire process. During the renovation and expansion project, we will update our patrons with the most accurate and timely information possible. Please check this web site and signage throughout the facility for updates on this project.

Campus Construction Update for March 22 - 28
Half Acre Gymnasium Addition and Renovation (General contractor Groathouse Construction, Inc., Cody; scheduled completion of Phase I, east reconstruction/addition, March 2015; Phase II, historic west renovation, summer 2015).
Phase I of the Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center was declared substantially complete on Friday, March 13, and opened on Monday, March 16. Punch-list tasks, building technology and transitional work toward commencement of Phase II renovation will continue post-occupancy. Access to Prexy's Pasture from the east Wyoming Union parking lot between Half Acre and the Wyoming Union has reopened. Please observe temporary barricades, cautionary signage or other posted instructions in areas where work will continue post-occupancy.
Phase II renovation of the historic western portion of Half Acre Gym has begun upon the occupancy and opening of the Phase I addition. The historic west entrance of Half Acre Gymnasium is closed for the Phase II renovation. Additional construction and staging areas are being established on the west side of Half Acre Gym and will result in increased congestion. Construction signage will be established as needed by specific site activities. Please observe all posted traffic control and construction signs in the affected areas. Completion of Phase II renovation in now scheduled for late summer 2015.
Construction and staging areas north, south, and east of the existing building have been established and are closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic, except that which is construction related. Temporary day-use parking has been established in the lot east of the Wyoming Union. Pedestrian pathways north of Half Acre Gym between Prexy's Pasture and Willett Drive remain open; however, the continuing construction in this vicinity will result in increased congestion. Temporary traffic controls and signs will be established as needed by specific site activities. Please observe all posted traffic control, construction signs and temporary flagging in the affected areas.
