"I wanted to write you a note to let you know about the excellent support that I have received from the A&S shop. With a portion of my start-up funds, I have been building a laboratory apparatus (flume) for hands-on teaching of concepts associated with active sedimentary environments including, rivers, deltas, lakes, oceans.  Last fall it was quite successfully used (though only partially complete) in GEOL 2100, a course in introductory sedimentology that all of our majors are required to take.  Bill and his staff were instrumental in making this happen.  Because the labor for this project was largely donated, Bill has helped to stretch my funds to include more hardware and make the flume a real state-of-the-art teaching facility.  I really appreciate his staff’s efforts, and I thought you would like to know how helpful they have been."

-Brandon, Geology
