Transfer
Students who transfer to the University of Wyoming - whether resident, non-resident, or international transfer students - may qualify for a scholarship.
Non-Traditional
Non-traditional students who meet certain criteria may qualify for scholarship assistance through the Wyoming's Tomorrow Scholarship.
External Scholarships
External scholarships are developed and funded by organizations external to UW. They’re
available to the public and can potentially help students cover the costs of their
education and education-related expenses. Student eligibility rules are created by
the organization offering the scholarship and can depend on many factors. If you are
a student who has been awarded an external scholarship or are a donor/organization
that is funding an external scholarship, please review the External Scholarships page for more information.
Emergency Scholarship
The University of Wyoming Emergency Scholarships are one-time only awards for UW students who experience unexpected emergent circumstances. Several criteria must be met to be eligible for this type of scholarship, including but not limited to:
- must be a full-time student,
- must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate)
- must have applied for, and exhausted, all other financial aid - that includes filing a FAFSA and accepting all federal aid (domestic students)
- must provide a statement of need and provide documentation
Students are required to submit the Emergency Scholarship Request to be considered.
The University of Wyoming has earned its Research Level 1 (R1) status from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, placing Wyoming's only four-year university with the top research universities in the United States.
