Student Learning Outcomes

Leadership within the Division of Student Affairs established Learning Outcomes in 2006. These outcomes were the result of an iterative process that asked the basic question, "What do we want our students to learn?"

Each department in the division is asked to support at least one of these learning outcomes through their own programming efforts. Departments are also asked to assess how well they are meeting their student learning goals. The assessment wheel is used as a guide to conceptualize the assessment process. Departments begin by identifying a learning outcome, then continue through the steps of measuring and analyzing their data, through finally refining their program. Departmental directors report their assessment findings in their annual reports.
