COLLEGE OF EDUCATION STATEMENT ON ELIMINATED PROGRAMS

Effective summer semester 2017, incoming and current University of Wyoming students will not be permitted to declare or to change their major to secondary Technical Education (EDIT). This program has been eliminated and the final cohort will have the opportunity to complete the student teaching requirement of their Bachelor of Science degree in spring semester, 2018.

After August 1st 2017, current University of Wyoming students will not be permitted to declare or to change their undergraduate major to secondary French, German, or Spanish Education (FRSE / GESE / SPSE) for approximately one year. In addition, no applicants will be admitted to the Post-Baccalaureate teacher education or Graduate Certificate – TSC programs in these content areas. During this period of time, we anticipate that the Modern Language Education program may undergo a number of changes. If the program continues, students wishing to pursue the re-structured version of the Modern Language Education program must still meet all of the College of Education admissions requirements (ACT/ SAT scores, UW GPA, background check, etc.) in order to do so. In the interim, we suggest that interested students consider declaring their degree in the French, German, or Spanish Bachelor of Arts programs available from the Department of Modern & Classical Languages in the UW College of Arts and Sciences (http://www.uwyo.edu/modlang/).

After August 1st 2017, current University of Wyoming students will not be permitted to declare or to change their undergraduate major to K-12 Art Education (ARED) for approximately one year. In addition, no applicants will be admitted to the Post-Baccalaureate teacher education or Graduate Certificate – TSC programs in this content area.
