Mission Statement

Visual & Cultural Arts (VCA) programs provides the University of Wyoming and the surrounding community with free cultural and artistic programs. The purpose of VCA is to enhance and cultivate diversity, promote excellence in and embrace art, and make it accessible to the campus community.

Purpose & Goals:

  • Provide quality cultural programs that expand the diverse opportunities on campus.
  • Embrace visual and cultural arts and make it accessible to the community.
  • Provide visual and cultural opportunities that are unique to campus and expand the knowledge of participants.
  • Provide students with the ability to meet and interact with individuals that have similar and differing opinions and beliefs on a variety of subjects.

What is Visual & Cultural Arts?

Visual & Cultural Arts is a program that provides free quality cultural programs throughout the year. Programs vary from acrobats, to spoken word artists and musicians. In addition, each semester three to five different art exhibits will be presented in Gallery 234, located in the basement of the Union.

How can I get art in Gallery 234?

Toward the end of each semester Gallery 234 calls for submissions. By filling out the Gallery 234 application your art will be considered for a show in the gallery. Visit Gallery 234 website for more information. 

Is there an admission charge for Visual & Cultural Arts events?

All Visual & Cultural Arts events are FREE!

How is Visual & Cultural Arts funded?

Visual & Cultural Arts is funded by a combination of student fees and grants, such as the Wyoming Arts Council.
