First-Year Seminar

The Nuts and Bolts of Developing Your New FYS Course

This session will introduce the goals and learning outcomes of the First-Year Seminar, and will provide an introduction to the application process.

  • Wednesday, October 21st, 2pm-3pm AND Thursday, October 22nd, 2015. Noon - 1:30pm, Coe 218.
    This is the only meeting that has a prescribed topic: Assessment of the First-Year Seminar Student Learning Outcomes. We are offering the session at two different times to try to accommodate as many instructors as possible. No registration necessary.

This informal session allows you to ask questions of Rick (the COM Sequence Coordinator) about courses you'd like to develop (for Spring 2016 and beyond) OR about ideas for revising/implementing courses you'll be teaching this fall. USP 2015: Getting Your Course Approved

Are you interested in getting a new or existing course approved for USP 2015? Then this workshop is for you! The presenters will walk you through the course approval process and leave you with the tools needed to have a Course Approval Form ready for submission.

Are you going to teach a USP 2015 course? Do you know how to align your syllabus, course activities, and course assignments with the required USP 2015 Student Learning Outcomes? Do you need assistance completing the USP 2015 Learning Outcomes Form? If so, then this workshop is for you!
