January 28, 2008

The University of Wyoming club hockey team lost to Border War rival Colorado State Friday night, 7-1 at the EPIC Center in Fort Collins, Colo.

The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division II Rams outshot the ACHA Division III Cowboys 62-26 to claim victory in the teams' only scheduled matchup this season.

Senior forward Graham Barrett (Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored UW's only goal, his team-leading 11th of the season. Sophomore forward T.J. Peters (Jackson) assisted on Barrett's goal.

CSU improved to 15-8-2; UW dropped to 6-7.

The Cowboys host UC-Colorado Springs for a pair of games this weekend. The teams meet Friday at the Taco John's Events Center in Cheyenne and Saturday at the Laramie Community Ice Arena. Faceoff is slated for 7 p.m. both days.
