University of Wyoming Television in the Outreach School received two Telly bronze awards for outstanding television productions.

The two programs, "Wyoming Signatures, The Best of," and "Values, Vision, Choices: Views from the Wind River Reservation" were chosen from more than 13,500 entries from all 50 states and around the world.

Founded in 1978, the Tellys are the premier awards honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. The awards annually showcase the best work of respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments.

"Wyoming Signatures, The Best of" featured popular segments from former "Wyoming Signatures" programs. Included are stories about wild horses in Wyoming, the UW Art Museum's place among the world's elite museums, and the Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival's Vertical Dance that takes place on the rocks of Vedauwoo east of Laramie.

"Wyoming Signatures," produced by the UW Outreach School, is seen on Wyoming Public Television twice monthly on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

"Values, Visions, Choices: Views from the Wind River Reservation" is a unique program that helps youths on the Wind River Indian Reservation to explore their own values, visions and life plans. The program introduces six role models from the reservation who share ways they have overcome challenges they have faced.

Walter Scott, associate professor in the UW Department of Psychology, co-produced this program with funding from the U.S. Department of Education.

"I'm very proud of our staff at University of Wyoming Television" says Tony Pedersen, UWTV manager. "They continue to set the highest standard of excellence in television programming for the university and the state of Wyoming."
