Operation Military Kids Coordinator Joins Laramie County Extension Office

December 2, 2008

An Operations Military Kids (OMK) coordinator has joined the Laramie County University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) office.

Eloise Riley began duties Dec. 1. This is a new position supported through a 4-H military grant obtained by Laramie County 4-H youth educator Jenna Evans, says Susan James, federal relations and staff development coordinator with the UW CES.

James said Riley will coordinate statewide activities for OMK, which specifically targets programs serving children of military families that have deployed parents. She will work not only with families on F.E. Warren Air Force Base but also with families on U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard installations statewide.

Riley has a bachelor's degree in physical education/recreation/health from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont.

She has worked with the National Guard and F.E. Warren Air Force Base in the past, which gives her an understanding of military culture, James says.

"Eloise brings more than 20 years of management of recreation programs and experience with National Guard and F.E. Warren Air Force Base," says James. "Her understanding of the military culture will be a great asset for this program. UW CES is excited to expand efforts working with military families."
