Asphalt Road Maintenance Workshops Scheduled

The Wyoming Technology Transfer Center will offer workshops on treating and maintaining asphalt roads in Douglas, Rock Springs and Thermopolis.

Sessions will be held from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. March 2 in Rock Springs, March 3 in Thermopolis and March 4 in Douglas. The cost of the workshop is $45, which includes lunch, breaks and all class materials. Located at the University of Wyoming, the center assists local Wyoming agencies and individuals in gaining technical transportation knowledge.

Split into two parts, the workshop will cover common maintenance problems with and treatments of asphalt roads. The workshop is aimed at city, county and WYDOT engineers, street maintenance supervisors, construction inspectors, engineering technicians, maintenance crew leaders and street maintenance workers.

Carl Rascoe will lead the workshop. Rascoe has taught LTAP pavement management classes for 13 years and is currently president of WaveTech Consulting, Inc., a full-service pavement engineering firm.
