Campus Construction Update for Week of Feb. 8

Facilities Planning Project Managers' Report: 

Information Technology (IT) Center -- Some punch list work (final items to complete on list after walk through of a project) remains in several locations and will be completed soon. Interior signs have been installed. Temporary window coverings have been installed on the second and third floor. Permanent window coverings will be ordered this week. The furniture, and other owner-provided items are being ordered and will be installed as they arrive.

Work on the exterior building and landscaping that is incomplete or was added late in the schedule will be completed as the weather permits. The building is open for contractors and IT staff only. Tours are can be arranged upon request.

College of Business Expansion and Renovation (Scheduled Completion Date: Fall 2010) -- At the existing building, painting will take place on the upper floor. Gypsum board finishing will take place on the first and second floors. Metal framing and utility rough-ins will start of the lower levels.

Faculty and staff in the UW College of Business have relocated to Crane Hall because of the renovation project. Go here for a list of the new office locations: www.uwyo.edu/news/showrelease.asp?id=23821

ILLC, Information Library and Learning Center (Scheduled completion date: September 2009) -- At the addition, the final cleaning will be under way on level one or the basement of the addition in preparation of the final inspection next week. Finish work is progressing on the rest of the floors. Ceiling tile and carpet installation will take place at levels three and four of the 50s addition.

Student Health/Cheney International Center -- The front entrance steps and ramp are being constructed as weather permits. The front entrance to student health is almost complete and it is now available for use. The basement and first floor west wings will have the ceiling completed this week and painting and flooring installation continues. Student Health Service personnel are scheduled to move over spring break to their permanent locations.

College of Law, Moot Court Addition and Renovation -- Most of the roofing has been installed. The clerestory windows and solar light tubes have been installed. Work at the roof level includes stucco, cap flashing and trim. Framing and rough-in in the Small Moot Court Room will be ready for drywall. The Large Moot Court and jury deliberation rooms are framed and sequenced behind the Small Moot Court for rough-in, drywall, etc.

Centennial Complex -- Interior punch list items in the small galleries will be complete this week.

UW Police Facility -- The old UniWyo Credit Union on the corner of 15th and Flint will become the new UW Police Facility. Staging for the contractor is in the north parking lot. Interior framing, electrical and mechanical rough-ins are 90 percent complete. Drywall installation is in progress. The construction completion is scheduled for March 2009.

The UW Physical Plant reports the following activities scheduled for the week:

Physical Sciences -- Work is occurring in mechanical system area of the building. The fourth floor men's room will be offline for about two weeks until the work has been completed.

15th Street -- The City of Laramie has completed the installation of a concrete apron around the manhole east of Wyo Hall. Traffic patterns have returned to normal.

Residence Halls -- Work on the manhole in the sidewalk on the Grand Avenue side of the residence halls has been completed. Traffic patterns have returned to normal.

College of Engineering -- The painting in public areas of the new Engineering Building continues. Please use caution around work areas and be aware of sensitivities to paint odors.

Half Acre -- Work has been completed at Half Acre except for caulking and sealing which will be done in the spring.

Fuel Facility -- The new fueling facility to the south of CEP (Central Energy Plant) is complete. Access has returned to normal on Gibbon Street. The facility is operational; however, some isolated difficulties with card readings are still being resolved. The old facility remains operational until all the issues are resolved.

Snow Removal -- Snow and ice removal continues as needed. Please be cautious of snow removal equipment.
