University of Wyoming Calendar for March 30-April 5
March 30, 2009 — These are among the public events scheduled at the
University of Wyoming Monday, March 30, through Sunday, April 5.
Monday, March 30, 7 p.m. -- Boston College Professor of Philosophy Kerry
Cronin will present SAVE THE DATE, an in-depth look at college dating,
in the Wyoming Union East Yellowstone Ballroom. Free.
Monday, March 30, 7 p.m. -- Israeli dancing, Wyoming Union Skylight Lounge. Free.
Monday, March 30, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Collegiate Chorale will perform a free concert in the Fine Arts Center concert hall.
Monday, March 30, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host a recital of 20th century Brazilian music to accompany the museum's current exhibition "The Disappeared/Los Desaparacidos."
Tuesday, March 21, 12:30 p.m. -- Traditional kosher lunch, College of Agriculture Building, Dean's Conference Room. Free.
Wednesday, April 1, Thursday, April 2, and Saturday, April 4, 7:30 p.m.
-- "Awaken/Shift," the Department of Theatre and Dance's final dance
concert of the season, College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Tickets
cost $14 for the public, $11 for senior citizens and $7 for students. To

Wednesday, April 1, 4:10 p.m. -- Spring 2009 faculty meeting, Room 302
of the Classroom Building. This is a change from the
originally-scheduled meeting location.
Wednesday, April 1, 6 p.m. -- Team leaders will present a slideshow
of their Alternative Spring Break assignments, Wyoming Union Family
Room. Free.
Wednesday, April 1, 7 p.m. -- Academy Award-winning director Debra
Chasnoff will screen her newest film "Straightlaced: How Gender's Got Us
All Tied Up" in the Wyoming Union ballroom.
Wednesday, April 1, 9 p.m. -- Rosa Clemente, hip hop activist, scholar,
community organizer, journalist, and 2008 Green Party vice presidential
candidate, will speak in the Wyoming Union ballroom.
Thursday, April 2, 7:30 p.m. -- Pianist Ingrid Fliter will perform in
the Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $18 for adults and $15
for students and senior citizens. Tickets are available by calling the

Friday, April 3, noon -- Mary L. Keller, adjunct professor in the
Religious Studies and African American Studies programs, presents "Heart
Mountain as Home: Foretop's Father in the 21st Century," Room 316 of

Friday, April 3, noon -- Darrell Brown, associate dean for undergraduate
programs at the Portland State University School of Business, will
present "Accounting (of Business) Research in Sustainability: How do we
fit?" in the Technology Business Center.
Friday, April 3, 12:45-2 p.m. -- The Phi Alpha Theta Colorado Regional
Conference, hosted by the Nu Alpha Chapter and the Department of
History, will host keynote speaker Barbara Engel, Distinguished
Professor of History at the University of Colorado-Boulder. She will
present "Sisters of Their Sisters? Russian Women, the Revolutionary
Legacy and the Denial of Personal Life," at the AHC's Stock Growers'
Room. Free.

Saturday, April 4, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. -- The Kappa Sigma Fraternity will
host its first chili cookoff in Fraternity Mall. Tickets cost $5. To

Sunday, April 5, 7:30 p.m. -- The Jo Stromgren Kompani will present its
theatrical performance "Polaroid, What's really happening at the North

Singing Statesmen and the Happy Jacks will perform at the Fine Arts
Center concert hall. Free.
