Laramie Love for Oxfam
LCA sponsors a "local for global" benefit concert for Oxfam featuring local bands this Friday.

The gentlemen of the Lambda Chi Alpha - Delta Rho fraternity at the University of Wyoming are teaming up with Oxfam America to contribute to the organization's global humanitarian efforts with a benefit concert Friday, April 16, at 7 p.m. in the Education Building auditorium.

The concert will feature a medley of local bands from the Laramie community, including "The Upbeat Project," "Ghosts of Predators Past," "Blume" and "Superczar." The concert is free, but donations will be accepted. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

"Taking action in your community during humanitarian emergencies can make an enormous difference worldwide," said Paul Gallegos, a UW junior and Oxfam America - Denver affiliate. "By hosting a concert that all can contribute to and enjoy, our ultimate goal is to include the university and community in a collaboration of support for Oxfam humanitarian efforts."

Oxfam America is an international relief and development organization that creates lasting solutions to poverty, hunger and injustice. Working with individuals and local groups in more than 100 countries, Oxfam saves lives, helps people overcome poverty and fights for social justice. It is an affiliate of Oxfam International.

Alex Mason, a junior at UW and bass player for "The Upbeat Project," says, "We are definitely excited to join Lambda Chi in their efforts to make some money and noise for Oxfam. What better way to make a difference in the world."

All proceeds above the minimal budget will be donated directly to Oxfam America. Local support will truly make a difference.

For information regarding the concert and/or donation opportunities, contact Jesse Johnson at (307) 851-6500 or jjohn142@uwyo.edu.
