Reggie Slater Headlines WTBC Networking Event
May 5, 2010 — Former University of Wyoming star and NBA player Reggie Slater will share business insights during the Wyoming Technology Business Center's (WTBC) e2e networking program Wednesday, May 12, at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn and UW Conference Center.
Wyoming's all-time leading rebounder, Slater now owns many oil and lube franchises along with Slater Sports Zone in Houston, Texas.
"His presentation ‘Rebounding: from Basketball to Business' is sure to bring back great memories from his exciting UW career and bring to light his transition from athlete to entrepreneur," says Greg Jordan, WTBC assistant director.
The WTBC started e2e as an educational networking program to improve the climate for the start-up and growth of entrepreneurial companies. Wednesday's event will also feature a presentation by Eric Gjording, whose Boost Audio business won first place in the 2010 UW College of Business 10k Entrepreneurial competition.
"Many of Laramie's entrepreneurs, small business owners, business service providers and people who support small business in Wyoming will be there," says Jordan. "We are expecting our largest crowd ever."
The WTBC is a not-for-profit business incubator that assists start-up and growing companies. It provides entrepreneurs with the expertise, networks and tools necessary for success.
