The fourth annual University of Wyoming College of Health Sciences health fair will be offered from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, in the Wyoming Union Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.

"The health fair provides the university and Laramie community with basic health care services free of charge," says Jessica Hopper, UW pharmacy student. "This is a great opportunity for the community to learn more about personal health issues that are not always considered."

This event also gives UW students in health care professions an opportunity to practice their profession and enjoy providing services to the public while enhancing the community's awareness of their capabilities.

Among services offered are blood glucose testing, osteoporosis screening, HIV tests, blood pressure, depression screening, sexual and reproductive health information, acupuncture, hearing, and vision and immunization information. Full blood work services will also be available starting at $25. Snacks and beverages will be offered.

Results from the blood draw held on Oct. 16, 7-10 a.m. in the Classroom Building will be available to pick up at the health fair.

This event is sponsored by the UW College of Health Sciences, the UW School of Pharmacy, ASUW, Walgreens and Rx Plus.
