Brentano, one of America's most popular string quartets, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, in the University of Wyoming Fine Arts Center concert hall.
Tickets for the concert, part of the spring Cultural Programs series, cost $20 for general admission and $17 for students and senior citizens. Tickets are available at the Wyoming Union and Fine Arts Center box offices. Call (307) 766-6666 for ticket information.
"We introduced you to the Brentano Quartet right after it had won the prestigious Naumburg Chamber Music and Cleveland Quartet competitions, after it had been given the Royal Philharmonic Society Music Award for 'the most outstanding debut' in London in 1997, and just before Brentano became quartet-in-residence at London's Wigmore Hall," says Cedric Reverand, UW Cultural Programs director. "Not bad for an American quartet."
"We warmly welcome back what the Philadelphia Inquirer called ‘players [who] could well be the best of the latest generation,' and we think you will be impressed both by them, and by the number of newspapers we read," says Reverand.
