UW Hockey Club Suffers Three Losses

November 22, 2011

The University of Wyoming hockey club lost all three of its games last week at the Clash in the Corn, a six-team tournament hosted annually by Dordt College of Sioux Center, Iowa.

The Cowboys fell 10-0 against Davenport University of Grand Rapids, Mich., the third-ranked team in the North Region of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA); 6-4 to the University of Nebraska, No. 9 in the ACHA's Pacific Region; and 4-2 against the host Blades.

Ethan Crockett (Cheyenne) scored all four UW goals against the Cornhuskers, while Noah Crank (Cheyenne) and Willy Miller (Arvada, Colo.) netted goals for the Cowboys against Dordt.

Iowa State University, the eighth-ranked team in the Pacific Region, won the Clash in the Corn with a 3-2 shootout victory over Davenport.

UW (3-9) returns to the ice Dec. 2-3, with two games against the United States Air Force Academy club squad in Colorado Springs, Colo.
