UW Artists to Showcase Works Friday

March 16, 2012 — Artist Wendy Bredehoft, photographer Susan Moldenhauer and dancer Margaret Wilson will present "(r)evolve: Sequencing through Time & Place" Friday, March 23, at 3 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Berry Center auditorium.

The presentation, sponsored by the UW Office of Academic Affairs, is free and open to the public. The Berry Center is located at 10th and Lewis Streets, east of the Bureau of Mines Building.

The presentation will reflect on three different exhibitions, which were mounted in 11 days, to showcase the work of the three artists. Each exhibition features work created in response to working together on location in Ucross, Fort Laramie and London, England. The artists say their goal was to create an environment for the audience to see the connections in their work, address the creative process of each, and reveal the influences on each other's work.

"This presentation will allow us to revisit the exhibitions and consider our success in creating three different environments that supported the medium and content of the work with the assistance of scenic designer Casey Kearns," say Wilson, a dancer and choreographer. "It also will give us the opportunity to discuss how the curatorial decisions we made helped us understand each other's work."

Moldenhauer is the director and chief curator of the UW Art Museum. Bredehoft is the museum's curator of education. Wilson, associate professor of dance at UW, initiated the university's vertical dance program.

Wendy Bredehoft, "Landscape 10"; Susan Moldenhauer, "The British Museum 2010"; and Margaret Wilson, dancer, represent the three exhibitions that will showcase the works of the three artists Friday, March 23, at 3 p.m. in the UW Berry Center auditorium.
