UWs Energy Resources Council and Clean Coal Task Force to Meet May 18

May 7, 2012

Members of the University of Wyoming Energy Resources Council (ERC) and Clean Coal Task Force (CCTF) will meet 8 a.m. Friday, May 18, at the UW Conference Center in the Hilton Garden Inn.

The ERC will review, among other topics, the fiscal year 2013 budget and discuss the budget reduction plan requested by Gov. Matt Mead. The ERC also will discuss the School of Energy Resources' (SER) strategy implementation and hear updates on academics, research and outreach.

Following the ERC meeting, the council will convene as the CCTF to consider its work on legislatively assigned projects.

The ERC, composed of representatives from industry, state government and academia, was established by the 2006 Wyoming State Legislature. It provides direction to the School of Energy Resources on priorities for research and outreach.

The SER provides undergraduate and graduate education; conducts research on existing and emerging energy resources; and disseminates scientific, engineering and economic information to support Wyoming's near- and long-term energy future.

Persons with disabilities requiring special accommodations to attend this meeting should contact the School of Energy Resources at (307) 766-6851. Information about the SER is available on the Web at www.uwyo.edu/ser.
