Baltimore Ravens Vice President Kevin Rochlitz to Speak at WTBC Event July 18


July 10, 2012 — University of Wyoming graduate Kevin Rochlitz, a vice president for the Baltimore Ravens, will discuss his career path from his roots in Powell to one of the most successful NFL franchises during a public presentation Wednesday, July 18.

He will discuss "The Story of Selling, From Ranches to the Ravens" from 5:30-7 p.m. at the UW Conference Center inside the Hilton Garden Inn. The talk is part of the Wyoming Technology Business Center's (WTBC) e2e networking program.

Rochlitz’s presentation is free with an e2e or Cowboy Joe Club membership. The public also is invited to attend as a guest by calling the WTBC at (307) 766-6395 or emailing WTBCdesk@uwyo.edu for a pass.

"Kevin Rochlitz understands the demands and perseverance required to be successful in business. The WTBC is thrilled to welcome him home and learn from his success,” says Christine Langley, WTBC chief operating officer.

e2e is an educational networking program with chapters in Laramie, Sheridan and Gillette to improve the climate for the start-up and growth of entrepreneurial companies. Five networking meetings are held during the year during which entrepreneurs meet with other entrepreneurs and business service providers. Ideas are shared, plans are developed and many partnerships are formed, Langley says.

Rochlitz, who joined the Ravens in 2003, oversees all of the team’s national partnerships and promotions. He is the primary contact for the team’s MedStar Health partnership and works with national partners such as Visa, Dietz & Watson, Southwest Airlines, Coca-Cola, Ticketmaster, MillerCoors and Anheuser-Busch on promotions and brand visibility.

He created and sold the Bacardi Bar and Talon Pub and also the club level bars at M&T Bank Stadium -- home of the Ravens. Rochlitz recently led the team in its new partnership with Under Armour and the naming of the club’s training facility to the Under Armour Performance Center.

Before joining the Ravens, Rochlitz spent five years as senior vice president of sales for Mandalay Sports and Entertainment/Mandalay Pictures, owners of the minor league baseball teams Dayton Dragons and Frisco Rough Riders. He oversaw new stadium construction, selling the naming rights for each venue, Fifth Third Field in Dayton, Ohio, and Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas.

Rochlitz was one of the youngest assistant athletic directors in NCAA Division I-A  from 1996-1997 for the University of Miami.

Last May, Rochlitz was selected by Department of Defense and Secretary Robert Gates for the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference to better understand U.S. military veterans’ issues. He attended the conference with 39 other top business leaders from across the country.

A 1989 Powell High School graduate, Rochlitz earned a B.S. degree (1993) in marketing from UW. He and his wife, Melissa, have a daughter, Riley, 9. He is the son of Ken and Karla Rochlitz of Powell.

The WTBC, a not-for-profit business incubator that provides entrepreneurs with the expertise, networks and tools necessary for success, launched e2e as an educational networking program to improve the climate for the start-up and growth of entrepreneurial companies.
