Upward Bound Students to Present Summer Research Findings

July 17, 2012

Students in the University of Wyoming Upward Bound Program will present the results of their summer research Thursday, July 19, from 9-11 a.m. in the Wyoming Union Ballroom. The public is invited to the symposium to meet the students and learn about their research findings.

The students, who come from 11 high schools in Wyoming, have completed a six-week academic program at UW that focused on a scientific research project guided by faculty or graduate student mentors.

The students, who will present their research in a science fair-style format, investigated topics in forestry, ecology, computer engineering, forensic anthropology and biomechanics.

Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Upward Bound assists eligible students in preparing for successful entry into college. Program services are provided at no cost to families who meet the eligibility requirements.
