The rest of the field day schedule is:

“It will be very interesting and instructive to hear the dialogue between administrators and producers to learn how we can better connect,” says Gary Moss, professor and interim research leader for the Wyoming Agricultural Experiment Station in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. “I’m looking forward to it.”

Buchanan will be followed by College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dean Frank Galey discussing the role of the R&E centers in connecting UW to citizens. Producer Kelly Spiering, chair of the PREC advisory group, will talk about connecting citizens to the R&E centers, and Bret Hess, director of the Agricultural Experiment Station, will discuss plans for PREC.

Highlighted research includes: Sub-surface and surface drip irrigated corn; effect of limited irrigation on sunflower growth in the Big Horn Basin; seeding rate and planting date effects on winter wheat; most effective rate of phosphate for sugar beets; an evaluation of strip-tillage and weed control in dry bean production; and effects of mechanical incorporation equipment for dry bean herbicides.
