The All-American Rejects 2012 Tour Comes to UW

September 27, 2012

Recording artists The All-American Rejects, Boys Like Girls, and Parachute will perform Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Arts and Sciences auditorium.

Tickets for UW students go on sale Monday, Oct. 1, for $25. Tickets for non-students go on sale Wednesday, Oct. 3, for $35. Tickets can be purchased at the Wyoming Union information desk, the Fine Arts box office and online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

The All-American Rejects return to the road this fall to support of their latest release, “Kids in the Street.”

"We're beyond stoked to be touring the U.S. again this fall. It'll be great being out with Boys Like Girls. We haven't toured with those dudes since 2006, so it should be a fun and memorable reunion for everyone," says Nick Wheeler, the All-American Rejects guitarist.

The All-American Rejects fourth CD, ”Kids in the Street,” was produced by Grammy nominee Greg Wells. Alternative Press notes the album is "easily their most ambitious and praiseworthy effort to date." Rolling Stone calls Tyson Ritter "a hook-wielding bard."

Formed in 1999, The All-American Rejects have released four studio albums: their platinum self-titled debut, featuring the breakthrough hit "Swing Swing," followed by 2005's double-platinum "Move Along," which spawned several top 10 hits, including "It Ends Tonight," "Dirty Little Secret" and "Move Along." The band is comprised of lead singer, lyricist and bassist Tyson Ritter; guitarist Nick Wheeler; rhythm guitarist Mike Kennerty; and drummer Chris Gaylor. They have sold more than 4 million albums and 16 million singles worldwide.

Boys Like Girls is a rock band from Massachusetts. Formed in 2005, the group gained mainstream recognition when it released its self-titled debut album. Parachute hails from Charlottesville, Va. The members graduated from college in May 2008, and since have toured and promoted their music from their debut album, “Losing Sleep,” and their sophomore album, “The Way It Was.”

Concerts and Convocations sponsors the concert. People needing assistance to attend should call (307) 766-6340. For more information on Concerts and Convocations, visit www.uwyo.edu/concerts.
