The University of Wyoming Vocal Jazz Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, in the UW College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature pieces by Betty Carter, Oliver Nelson and John Coltrane, with arrangements by Darmon Meader and Kerry Marsh. The concert also will highlight members of the ensemble singing solo selections from the Great American Songbook.
The UW Vocal Jazz Ensemble is composed of 12-16 singers with a rhythm section. The emsemble performs standard and contemporary jazz in a variety of styles and genres. The ensemble will soon perform at the University of Northern Colorado Jazz Festival in Greeley, Colo.
