For three weeks in July, the University of Wyoming Art Museum will offer “Paint Pony Express,” a free series of art classes for students ages 4 to 11.

Each day is designed for a specific age group. Classes for children ages 4-5 will be Tuesdays (July 9, 16 and 23). Students ages 6-8 will meet Wednesdays (July 10, 17 and 24). Classes for students ages 9-11 will be Thursdays (July 11, 18 and 25). Classes meet from 1-3 p.m. each day for all three sessions.

Students -- who will be taught by museum instructors -- will use art, music, movement and storytelling to explore a different exhibition and theme each week. Students will have the opportunity to make art using paint, collage, sculpture and other mediums.

Students are urged to wear clothes that are suited for art-making. Parents are asked to stay with children under 5 years of age.

To register, contact Art Museum Master Teacher Heather Bender at (307) 766-3515 or email hbender1@uwyo.edu.
