Apply Now for UW Leadership Academy

July 15, 2013

Applications will be accepted through Thursday, Aug. 15, for the second University of Wyoming Leadership Academy, a program designed to develop and enhance the skills of current and future UW leaders.

UW's Leadership Academy is an opportunity to expand the personal and professional growth of individuals with recognized potential to further the university's commitment to education, research and public service to the state. Each participant will be paired with a UW mentor throughout the program.

Participants will learn about such topics as organizational stewardship, employment law and legal issues, interpersonal mastery, personal values, service and building trust. Another session is devoted to learning about UW and its importance to the state. A visit to the Wyoming State Legislature is scheduled in February. The program begins with an introductory session Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Representatives from Mountain States Employers Counsel (MSEC) and StarQuest Learning will deliver most of the program's content. MSEC, based in Denver, is designed to partner with employers to maintain effective employer/employee relationships. StarQuest Learning, of Evergreen, Colo., specializes in developing leaders, managers, sales professionals and customer service providers.
