UW Art Museum Annual Gala is Oct. 26

September 26, 2013 — The University of Wyoming Art Museum’s 20th annual Gala ball and fundraiser is Saturday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Yellowstone Ballroom. The theme is “Laissez les bons temps rouler,” or “Let the good times roll.”

Invitations were mailed in September. To be added to the invitation list, call (307) 766-3477.

The event provides funding for Art Museum exhibitions, collections, education and outreach programs that bring nationally renowned and culturally significant works of art to Wyoming and the surrounding area.

The gala will feature gourmet food, a silent auction and music performed by Jackson 6, a New Orleans-style jazz band from Jackson. Auction items include a trip to the 2014 New Orleans French Quarter Festival and a necklace appraised at more than $8,000. A drawing for a $1,000 gift card also will be held.

“We are honored to chair the 2013 Gala, and thrilled that new UW President Bob Sternberg and his wife, Karin, will join us at what promises to be a fun evening for a great purpose,” say Chris and Kathryn Boswell of Cheyenne, chairs for this year’s event. “The Art Museum and its outreach programs not only impact the quality of life around Wyoming, (but) the pre-school, through college education programs, strengthens student problem-solving and critical thinking skills -- a great benefit to our future workforce.”
