Fall Job and Internship Fair Oct. 8 at UW

October 4, 2013

A fall student job and internship fair is scheduled 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the University of Wyoming Union Ballroom.

Sponsored by UW’s Center for Advising and Career Services (CACS), the job fair is for students to connect with possible employers.

“This is a good opportunity for students to stop by to visit with employers about career and internship opportunities,” says Michael McNamee, career services coordinator. “This is the time to begin looking and is a great opportunity for networking.”

The fair is for students set to graduate, ready to look for full-time jobs or for those seeking internships or summer jobs related to their major.

McNamee says many company representatives only attend this job fair in the fall and urges UW students to attend. CACS representatives advise students to:

-- Bring plenty of resumes and make sure all information is updated and professional looking.

-- Dress appropriately.

-- Research the attending organizations before the job fair.

-- Bring a campus ID.

CACS advisers offer assistance with student resumes and provide tips for preparing for the job fair. For assistance, visit the CACS office in Room 222 of Knight Hall or call (307) 766-2398 to set up an appointment to meet with a staff member.
