UW Homecoming Parade Winners Announced

Delta Delta Delta and Sigma Nu received the Grand Award for the most outstanding float in the 2013 University of Wyoming Homecoming parade Saturday, Oct. 12. Gering, Neb., won first place in the high school marching band competition.

Other winners in the adjudicated float categories were:

Most Original Float: Latter Day Saints Students Association.

Best Use of Theme: Chi Omega and Pi Kappa Phi.

Off-Campus Walking: Naughty Pines Derby Dames.

Off Campus Commercial: First Interstate Bank.

Other winners in the band competition were: second place, Natrona County High School; third place, Kimball, Neb.; honorable mention, Laramie Junior High School.

The parade, with the theme, “This is the West … Forever Brown and Gold,” featured 80 entries.
