These are among the activities scheduled Aug. 24-30 at the University of Wyoming:
Thursday, Aug. 27, 7 a.m. -- UW residence halls open for the fall semester.
Thursday, Aug. 27, 4 p.m. -- Laramie Research and Extension Center field day and dinner, 1174 Snowy Range Road. Free.
Friday, Aug. 28, 8 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “The History of Astronomy.” A STAR Observatory tour follows at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $2 for students and $3 for nonstudents, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in Room 204 of the Physical Sciences Building.
Saturday, Aug. 29, 8 a.m. -- UW Nordic ski team’s annual “Trash 2 Treasure” fundraiser, Fraternity-Sorority Row.
A variety of exhibitions can be seen at the UW Art Museum in the Centennial Complex, 2111 Willett Drive in Laramie. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free.
Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum, open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
