The University of Wyoming faculty string ensemble, the Summit Chamber Players, will perform with guest pianist Andrew Todd Friday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts recital hall.
The free public performance of “Succinct, Serious, and Exuberant!” is part of the UW Music Department’s Faculty Recital Series.
The evening’s program will feature powerhouse string quartets by Shostakovich and Beethoven, as well as Schumann’s “Piano Quintet.”
Todd is director of the Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson Hole. He holds degrees from the University of Colorado-Boulder, Mannes College of Music and Northwestern University.
As the winner of the Artists International Piano Award, Todd made his New York debut in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2001. Released in 2002, Todd’s first CD featured the works of Bach, Beethoven, Granados and Rachmaninoff. He released a CD, “Looking Back: The Late Piano Works of Johannes Brahms,” in 2012.
