A traditional holiday feast will be served at the annual Thanksgiving dinner Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Union Ballroom. Tickets will be available beginning Monday, Nov. 9.
UW students can pick up free tickets at the Wyoming Union information desk. Students are highly encouraged to bring canned good donations when picking up their tickets. Non-students can purchase tickets at a cost of $10, or free with a donation of three canned food items. Tickets are limited.
The menu includes roasted turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, corn bread stuffing, rolls and butter, a variety of pies including traditional pumpkin, tea, water, punch, lemonade and coffee.
This is the fifth year that the Student Activities Council (SAC) has sponsored the event. UW Catering and Events prepares the meal.
“Bring your appetite and a canned good donation to help those in need during the Thanksgiving season,” says Piper Singer, SAC marketing intern.
Student Activities Council is looking for UW student volunteers. If interested, contact sac@uwyo.edu. SAC meetings are Mondays at 5 p.m. in the Campus Activities Center in Room 012 of the Wyoming Union.
