The hit film “Straight Outta Compton” will be shown in conjunction with Friday Night Fever and the University of Wyoming’s Martin Luther King Jr. Days of Dialogue (MLK DOD) Friday, Feb. 5, in the Wyoming Union Family Room.
Three free public screenings of the film will be at 5:30 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. A panel discussion will follow the 5:30 p.m. screening.
“Straight Outta Compton” follows the 1980s rap group, N.W.A., which included Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Easy E, from the harsh streets of their hometown of Compton, Calif., to gansta rap stardom. The film focuses on the group’s revolution of the hip-hop culture.
