UW President Outlines Plan to Reduce Budget

May 25, 2016 — The University of Wyoming would eliminate at least 70 vacant positions, standardize the teaching load for faculty members, offer an employee retirement incentive and take other measures to reduce ongoing spending by about $19 million in the fiscal year that begins July 1, under a plan to be presented to the UW Board of Trustees. Internal, one-time reallocations totaling about $6 million also are proposed.

A Message From the President: Budget Reductions, Hiring Restrictions and Prudent Management of Expenditures

May 11, 2016 — In recent weeks, the University of Wyoming has been asked to plan for the possibility of substantial reductions to our block grant funding from the state. Those reductions are no longer speculative, and UW now has an amount that is a firm reduction to its block grant.

Bar Nunn Woman Receives 2016 Maggi Murdock Scholars Award

May 3, 2016 — Brianna Anderson, of Bar Nunn, who received her Bachelor of Science in technical education through the University of Wyoming Outreach School, is one of two recipients of the 2016 Maggi Murdock Scholars Award. This year’s other recipient is Mary J. Hipol, of Evanston, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology.
