SBDC Workshop in Evanston to Focus on Seven Habits of Highly Effective People

Learning the habits of highly effective people will be the subject of a two-day workshop sponsored by the Wyoming Entrepreneur Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

Franklin Covey’s “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” is scheduled July 28-29, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, at the Uinta County School District 1 Board of Cooperative Educational Services Higher Education Center, 1013 Cheyenne Drive, in Evanston. Renowned as the world’s premier personal leadership development and training program, “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” aligns principles of effectiveness with the relevancy of today’s practices, as well as modern technology.

The SBDC is a partnership among the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Business Council and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The SBDC focuses on educating small business owners and potential owners on how to successfully start and operate small businesses. The SBDC’s main office is located at UW.

Susan Jerke, SBDC regional director for the Northeast Region, will present the program. Jerke has been trained in the “Seven Habits” curriculum and uses these principles in her daily life.

Participants will receive the “Seven Habits” assessment to gauge their effectiveness; a 182-page participant guidebook to help attendees continue to enhance the learning process after the workshop; a “seven-week contract” that focuses on daily activities; the “Seven Habits” mobile app; reference, practice and skills cards that focus on applying the new knowledge; and two days of experimental training that features more than 30 award-winning videos.

Thanks to special funding from the U.S. SBA Center, Wyoming residents can register for $159, compared to the normal $399 price. To register and pay online, go to www.wyen.biz/events. To pay by check or for more information, call the SBDC at (307) 382-0947.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance.

The Wyoming SBDC Network is a business advising group of the Wyoming SBDC, Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Market Research Center and Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Initiative. The network’s mission is to help Wyoming entrepreneurs succeed. Advising and most market research activities are free of charge to Wyoming residents.
