UW Webinar to Explore International Trade Show Strategy

Business owners can learn how to optimize their investments in time and money for a productive international trade show experience.

A webinar, titled “Make the Most of International Trade Shows,” will be presented by the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2-3 p.m.

The SBDC is a partnership among the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Business Council and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The SBDC focuses on educating small-business owners and potential owners on how to successfully start and operate small businesses. The SBDC’s main office is located at UW.

Those listening during the webinar can obtain firsthand, expert information about how to manage expectations, prepare for and execute their trade show participation, and best follow-up practices. Topics to be covered include: trade show selection, cultural/market expectations, planning and logistics, booth staffing/etiquette and after-show follow-up.  

Whether a trade show is hosted domestically or internationally, attendees will receive insights from trade show expert Russell Hood, of Oak Overseas. Hood has 23 years of experience organizing U.S. participation at various industry trade shows, including those focused on food, defense, packaging and processing. He has worked shows in more than 20 countries, including locations in Asia, Africa, Europe, South America and the United Arab Emirates.  

There is no fee for this webinar due to a State Trade Expansion Program grant to the Wyoming Business Council from the SBA. However, participants must register online at www.wyomingsbdc.org to obtain the link to the program. All registrants will receive a link to the recorded webinar.
