March 31, 2017 — These are among the construction activities scheduled April 2-8 at the University of Wyoming:

March 31, 2017 — In a resort hotel 73 years ago in New Hampshire's White Mountains, 44 countries conjured a financing vehicle that remains one of the most efficient uses of public finance ever devised. The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) later became the cornerstone institution of the World Bank Group.

March 31, 2017 — Diverse topics focusing on the history of the state’s coal industry, attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act and the four major “beginnings” of human history will be discussed by three University of Wyoming professors during UW’s popular Saturday University program Saturday, April 22, in Rock Springs.
March 31, 2017 — Chief Washakie scholarships recently were awarded to 14 University of Wyoming students for the coming academic year.

March 31, 2017 — University of Wyoming President Laurie Nichols will meet with local residents Tuesday, April 11, from 7:15-9 a.m. at the Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center, located at 700 Broadway St. in Thermopolis.

March 30, 2017 — Sea otters have the distinction of using tools, such as rocks, to break open hard-to-access food sources. A new study -- in which two University of Wyoming researchers participated -- reveals that, unlike bottlenose dolphins, California sea otters’ frequent use of tools has little to do with genetic ties and more to do with ecological conditions.
March 29, 2017 — Impacts of the Heart Mountain Relocation Center then and now will be examined during Heart Mountain Week Monday-Thursday, April 10-13, at the University of Wyoming.

March 29, 2017 — A new American Indian Center opening in July at the University of Wyoming will be a resource facility that encourages all UW students, especially American Indian students, to achieve success and optimize their college experience. The center also will honor American Indian heritage and demonstrate respect for Native people’s cultures, traditions, laws and diverse expressions of sovereignty.

March 28, 2017 — For decades, scientists have known that tropical places like Hawaii, with lush landscapes and vegetation, nutritionally benefit from the dust that blows from Asia. However, results of a new study -- headed by University of Wyoming researchers -- demonstrate that dust also can drive the evolution of nutrient budgets in mountainous forest ecosystems.

March 14, 2017 — Two University of Wyoming researchers led a voyage to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean and discovered five previously unknown active hydrothermal vents and a completely new vent site.
March 14, 2017 — The University of Wyoming’s 7220 Entertainment organization will host a general interest meeting Tuesday, March 21, at 5 p.m. in Pete’s Game Room in the lower level of the Wyoming Union. Free games and pizza will be provided.
