Photocopier Product Show Offered This Week at UW

University of Wyoming employees are reminded of a Konica Minolta photocopier product show that will include demonstrations Tuesday and Wednesday, May 23-24, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. both days in the East Ballroom of the Wyoming Union.

Current vendor Konica Minolta was recently selected to continue as the university’s exclusive copier vendor for four additional years beginning July 1. The company was chosen through a competitive proposal process in which eight vendors provided proposals for consideration.

“Konica Minolta has been a strong partner of the university since July 1, 2009, and I’m pleased to continue working with them moving forward,” says Patrick Eastman, Copier Services manager. “Konica Minolta put forth a strong proposal that understood both the university’s financial situation along with its need to add efficiencies to existing business processes. We anticipate that many, if not all, of the copiers, beginning July 1, will include enhanced scanning capabilities such as scan-to-Word, scan-to-Excel, etc.”

Copier Services reminds the campus community that single function printers (i.e., desktop printers) are often one of the most expensive means of printing. With the networking of nearly all copiers on campus, faculty and staff members are likely able to print directly to a nearby copier at a reduced cost. Questions regarding this printing option can be directed to Copier Services at 766-5546.

Also, all copier supplies, such as toner and staples, are included in this exclusive agreement and should never be purchased from a telemarketer, Eastman says.
