Volunteers Needed for UW Move

Volunteers are needed to welcome new and returning students and their families to the University of Wyoming for the fall semester.

This year, “Move-In 2017” has been condensed into a one-day event, with volunteers needed for various shifts Monday, Aug. 28.

Volunteers are needed to greet students; help students load carts to transport their belongings to residence hall rooms; answer questions; direct students to appropriate offices; and organize cart and dolly use. Volunteers can work various shifts throughout the day in one-hour increments beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m.

“Our students and their families repeatedly tell us how exciting it is to be greeted by the many individuals from the university and feel welcomed into the community during what could be a stressful time for them,” says Eric Webb, executive director of UW Residence Life and Dining Services, and the Wyoming Union. “Such a strong commitment to welcoming our students exemplifies the caring culture of our campus and the myriad of ways we rally to support our students.”
