Best-selling author Jeffrey Selingo to Speak at UW

Jeffrey Selingo

Best-selling author Jeffrey Selingo will speak Tuesday, Oct. 2, at noon in the University of Wyoming Union Ballroom. His presentation is free and open to the public.

Known for his work as a higher education author, columnist and editor, Selingo will discuss his latest book, titled “There Is Life After College.” The book focuses on how today’s young adults navigate school for the future job market. He is a special adviser and professor of practice at Arizona State University and a visiting scholar at Georgia Tech’s Center for 21st Century Universities. 

Among his other books are “College (Un)Bound: The Future of Higher Education and What It Means for Students” and “MOOC U: Who Is Getting the Most Out of Online Education and Why.”

Selingo’s writing has been published in the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and Slate. He also has appeared on ABC, CNN, PBS and NPR.

For years, Selingo was a top editor for the Chronicle of Higher Education, where he worked in reporting and editing. He has received multiple awards from the Education Writers Association, Society of Professional Journalists and the Associated Press.

Selingo graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College, where he studied journalism. He received a master’s degree in government from Johns Hopkins University.
