Nominations Accepted for UW Winter Commencement Student Speaker

Nominations are now being accepted for a student speaker for the University of Wyoming’s winter commencement ceremony Saturday, Dec. 14. The nomination deadline is Thursday, Nov. 7.

One UW student graduating this winter will be selected to speak during the commencement ceremony. UW faculty, staff and student organizations are invited to nominate students for the honor, says Courtney Thomson-Lichty, senior project coordinator in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.

Each nominated student should indicate whether he/she is an undergraduate or graduate student and also confirm willingness to participate as the commencement speaker.

Criteria include a record of academic excellence; ability to write and speak effectively to a large audience; demonstrated leadership in student organizations/activities, public service or other activities that involve speaking to groups; and representative of the best qualities of UW graduates.
