Utility Work Prompts Closure of 15th Street Between Grand, Lewis

Utility work related to the demolition of Wyoming Hall in preparation for eventual construction of new student housing has prompted the closure of 15th Street from Grand Avenue to Lewis Street starting Monday, April 19.

The closure will be in place through Oct. 31.

The street will be closed to all northbound and southbound traffic between Grand and Lewis. University of Wyoming campus access will be limited to authorized traffic only.

Those seeking access to Greenhill Cemetery will need to enter from Willett Drive.

Recommended alternate north/south routes are Ninth, 22nd and 30th streets.

Replacement of UW’s outdated residence halls is a top construction priority of the university. The Wyoming Legislature has authorized construction of new housing and dining facilities, to be financed primarily through issuance of bonds, west of 15th Street near the Wyoming Union and Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center.
