State, national and international media frequently feature the University of Wyoming and members of its community in stories. Here is a summary of some of the recent coverage:

Yahoo! Finance, Market Screener, The Associated Press and Canadian Money reported that the UW School of Energy Resources has agreed to provide a matching grant of up to $1 million to Clean Coal Technologies Inc., a company that uses patented and proven technology to convert run-of-mine coal into a cleaner-burning and more efficient stabilized solid fuel. The award is part of the critical next stage of technology development.

UW students are among the highest paid petroleum engineers following graduation, according to a Yahoo! Finance survey. UW was ranked among 10 schools listed in the survey.

Buzz Feed News interviewed, among others, Jane Zelikova, a UW ecologist, for an article, titled “These Scientists Are Radically Changing How They Live To Cope With Climate Change.”

UW economist Rob Godby discussed with S&P Global how large Powder River Basin coal companies are cutting production, while smaller companies are struggling to maintain a steady cash flow.

The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, in a podcast, featured UW economist Chuck Mason, who discussed why oil markets are undergoing fundamental change. Ben Cook, UW’s Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute visiting professor, discussed with Wyoming Public Radio how Cloud Peak Energy’s struggles began.

A number of present and past UW personnel were interviewed by The Casper Star-Tribune (CS-T) to discuss the future of the university as the Board of Trustees begins the process of seeking a new president.

Wyo4News published UW’s release announcing UW students Jess Fahlsing and Dylan Rust, both from Sweetwater County, as winners of the Rosemarie Martha Spitaleri and Tobin Memorial Award, which recognizes the most outstanding graduates.
