Homecoming Week at UW was Oct. 12-19, with the theme “Breaking Through.” The Big Event, a community service day presented by the Service, Leadership and Community Engagement Office, kicked off Homecoming. The week included a variety of activities for students, alumni and friends. Student activities ranged from the Homecoming Sing to the Car Push to an Associated Students of UW barbecue and so much more. Alumni and friends activities ranged from department open houses and receptions to tailgates. Those who preregistered for Homecoming received a UW Alumni Association (UWAA) Homecoming T-shirt. During registration, alumni could also take advantage of the University Store discount coupon based on graduation year.

The 2019 Distinguished Alumni Awards were presented to David Emery (B.S.P.E. ’85), Robert Fiero (B.S. ’60), Stan Grad (B.S.P.E. ’71) and John List (Ph.D. ’96). These individuals were honored at the UW Distinguished Alumni dinner, participated in activities with their colleges, took part in the parade and were announced at the football game. The 50th Club Reunion was hosted by the UWAA and honored the class of 1969 and those who graduated prior.

There were 80 entries in the parade, and the overall parade winner was Toyota of Laramie. The UWAA and the UW Foundation welcomed alumni and friends to Cowboy Coffee and the Alumni and Friends Reunion prior to the football game. The title sponsor of the reunion was First Interstate Bank. The reunion was also sponsored by Black Hills Energy. The Pokes Pregame Pep Rally before the game featured remarks from UW head football Coach Craig Bohl, the Western Thunder Marching Band and UW Cheer. The Homecoming football game pitted the Cowboys against the New Mexico Lobos. The Cowboys defeated the Lobos 23-10.

Thank you to the Homecoming committee for helping to create a memorable week at UW and to everyone who hosted events. Thank you as well to our Homecoming sponsor, UniWyo Federal Credit Union.
