How to create breadcrumbs

What are breadcrumbs?

Breadcrumbs are a type of dynamic navigation typically used for every page except the home page. By showing a navigation trail from the home page to the current page, breadcrumbs ensure that visitors know where they are and how they got there.

Implementing Breadcrumbs on your site:

Breadcrumbs are applied at the folder level.

For example: 'kb', is a folder within our site that we've set to display as 'Knowledge Base' in the breadcrumbs with the steps below:

  • First, select the folder
  • Right click the folder and select edit
  • You will now have the option to edit the Title field in the Metadata for the folder
  • Provide a title that will be displayed as the breadcrumb, this should be a friendly name that can contain upper case and spaces
  • Submit your page and be sure to test in the development environment as explained in How to Publish.
