WWAMI Medical Education is partnering with Ivinson Memorial Hospital to conduct free Stop the Bleed courses on campus. Stop the Bleed is a national campaign aimed at providing the education, equipment and training needed to help in an emergency setting involving uncontrollable bleeding before help arrives. When a person is suffering from uncontrollable bleeding, bystanders are generally the first people available to assist. It only takes five minutes for a person to lose their complete blood supply, and while emergency responders will arrive as quickly as possible, it may be too late. After taking a Stop the Bleed course, you will gain the skills and equipment needed to potentially save the life of a family member, friend, coworker, or bystander suffering from an uncontrollable bleed.
